The Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) of Malawi is currently implementing the “AGYW for Active Citizenship” project under the HER Voice Fund. The HER Voice Fund is supported by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (the Global Fund) and ViiV Healthcare Positive Action, and is managed by the Global Network of Young People Living with HIV (Y+ Global) across 13 priority countries, including Malawi. The project targets Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) aged 15–29 years, with a specific focus on: AGYW living with HIV, AGYW with disabilities, AGYW who are key populations, AGYW in rural areas, AGYW who use or inject drugs, AGYW who sell sex, Pregnant AGYW and young Mothers.

As part of this effort, YWCA, in collaboration with district health authorities and community structures, has rolled out a series of awareness campaigns designed to increase knowledge of Youth-Friendly Health Services (YFHS) available in local health facilities. To expand reach and ensure information is accessible, YWCA is implementing targeted digital campaigns across social media and mobile platforms. These online campaigns share accurate, youth-friendly information on available services, including: Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights awareness, HIV testing and treatment adherence, Contraception and family planning, cervical cancer screening and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination.
